She was born in Tyronza into the family of Joseph H. and Edna M. Jones. She was a retired bookkeeper from Kohn Bray Butane Company. She attended Arkansas State University at the age of 52. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marked Tree and Church of God of Prophecy in Jonesboro.
She is survived by her husband, James Farmer of Jonesboro; two sons, Dr. T.D. McCay of Melbourne, Fla., Joseph Dallas McCay of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one step-son, Rev. Steve Farmer of Jonesboro; one daughter, Linda Miller of West Memphis; one step-daughter, Marlene Burgess of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, Thurman Ellis McCay and H.B. Bouchillon both of Marked Tree.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy on Race Street in Jonesboro with Gerald Vickers officiating. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
