Morris "Pete" Lansdale

Morris "Pete" Lansdale, 86, a retired farmer, died Saturday, June 21 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, Miss.

Lansdale was a veteran of the United States Army in which he served as an Army Corporal during WWII. A member of First Baptist Church in Marked Tree, he enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy Lansdale of Oxford; one son, Morris Wayne Lansdale of Oxford; one sister, Reba McDaniel of Little Rock and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Mississippi State Veterans Home, 120 Veterans Drive, Oxford, Miss. 38655.

Funeral services were Monday, June 23, with Dr. Gary Richardson officiating. Burial followed in Eastover Memorial Cemetery with Waller Funeral home in charge of services.

In honor or Lansdale's service to his country, the flag of the United State's Army was being flown at the funeral home.
