Willie Cullen Heath

Willie Cullen Heath, 84, of Trumann, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at his home of natural causes.

Born in Greene County, Heath lived in Jonesboro before moving to Trumann in 1973. He was retired from G.E. in Jonesboro and was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II. He was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church where he was the teacher of Adult Men #4 Sunday school class.

Heath was a member of American Legion Post 42 in Trumann, a member of the G.E. Retirees Association and was preceded in death by his wife Lena Heath last month.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Nellie Seay Heath, and by three sisters: Ruby Bottoms, Eva Matlock, and Martha Sue Smith.

Survivors include twp sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Marilyn Heath of Jonesboro and Stan and Sharon Cragg of Conway; one daughter and son-in-law: Sandy and Sonny Whitmire of Jonesboro; two brothers: Jack Heath of West Memphis and Boyd Heath of Hot Springs; four sisters: Amy Carter and Linda Clark, both of Jonesboro, Betty Mason of El Dorado and Mary Ann Rogers of Malvern; eight grandchildren: Steven Crocker, Jessica Simpson, Laura Spires, Nathan Whitmire, Amy Whitmire, Seth Whitmire, Jennifer Gautreaux and Dylan Hurd; and 11 Great Grandchildren: Tyler Simpson, Ethan Simpson, Henry Spires, Rachel Spires, Samuel Whitmire, Larkin Whitmire, Mary-Emma Whitmire, Kaid Hurd, Jack Hurd, Garrett Gautreaux and Anna Gautreaux.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 14 at Nettleton Baptist Church with Stan Ballard and Mike Blackwood officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers included Brent Baker, Steven Crocker, Seth Whitmire, John Carter,

Nathan Whitmire and Mike Carter.

Honorary pallbearers were the Mens #4 Sunday School Class and members of American Legion Post 42 of Trumann.
