The First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree held their Vacation Bible School recently with some 20 adults and 45 children from over the community attending the event. This year's theme was "Beach Party." The children learned biblical stories through drama, games and songs. Women prepared fun snacks and children played games and enjoyed arts and crafts.

The children presented a program to wrap up the week's events during the Sunday morning worship service. There is a music video of the children in the week of events that parents may come by and pick up at the church office by calling 358-2991.

The FUMC has a bible class for adults or Sunday School for children every Sunday morning beginning at 10a.m. Church service follows at 11 a.m.Teens meet every Wed at 6pm.

The choir is always looking for additional voices and will resume practices beginning the first Wed in July from 7 to 8 p.m. They will be preparing a Patriotic program to honor the veterans at this year's Jubilee in September.
