Born Jan 29, 1929, to Alfred and Selita Hood, he was a retired farmer, a member of the Upper Room Apostolic Church in Tyronza and an Army veteran of the Korean war.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Hood; two sisters, Freda Causby and Ruby Clark; and four brothers, Freeman Hood, Jack Hood, Ellis Hood and Buck Hood.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hood of the home; three daughters, Liz Cochrell of Mississippi, Liz Simpson of Payneway and Marie Jones of Lepanto; three sons, Billy Wayne Hood of Tupelo, Miss., Roger Hood of Marked Tree and Tony Hood of Trumann; one brother, Billy Hood of Tyronza; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday, June 29 at the Upper Room Apostolic Church in Tyronza with Bro. Larry Vinson officiating. Burial followed in Potter Cemetery in Lepanto under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza.
