Gene A. Caplinger of Jonesboro died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at St. Bernards at age 87.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1920, at Harrisburg.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Caplinger of Jonesboro; one son, Bryan Caplinger (formerly of Marked Tree) of Jonesboro; one daughter, Linda Hutchison of Memphis; one brother, Don Caplinger of Pompano Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services were at Jackson's Funeral Home of Harrisburg Wednesday, Aug. 13 with interment in Harrisburg Memorial Park.
