Kathryn Virginia Byford, 78, of Luxora died Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Great River Medical Center.

She was born in Gunterville, Ala. to the late James and Myrtle Atchley on Sunday, Nov. 10, 1929. She worked as a cook for River Industry Barge Line and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include one son, Donald Byford of Osceola; four daughters: Jackie Teague and Barbara Hamilton of Luxora, Kathy Tucker of Lepanto and Bonnie Brooks of Manila; one brother, Wood Atchley of Osceola; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph H. Byford, five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 12 -- 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 at Roller Swift Funeral Home in Osceola. Graveside funeral services will then follow in Mississippi County Memorial Gardent at 2 p.m.
